Clients at Cedar Harbor celebrated Ecuador Independence Day with traditional food, music, dance and culture – and of course lots of fun and camaraderie.
"Many of our clients are of Hispanic origin, so the celebration was closer to home," says Lowell Fein, LNHA, Cedar Harbor’s administrator. However, regardless of culture or ethnicity, everyone had a wonderful time: after all, who doesn’t enjoy a great celebration?!
The event commemorates the day in 1809 when the people of Quito became the first Latin Americans to rebel against Spanish rule. Their declaration of independence, known as El Primer Grito de la Independencia, was a landmark event and a harbinger of the emerging trend towards independence.
And at Cedar Harbor, where every day is a cause for celebration, spirits were very high.
¡Feliz Día de la Independencia!
